How do I transcribe a voice message?
In WhatsApp, Signal or Telegram, long-press a voice message, tap Share, then choose FVocals. The audio opens in FVocals and is transcribed on your phone.
Is an internet connection required?
Internet is only needed to download the speech-recognition model you choose. Once installed, transcription runs locally without internet.
Which model should I choose?
FVocals offers models adapted to each platform and device. The app shows their language coverage, size and speed so you can choose the right trade-off.
Is FVocals free?
FVocals is completely free on Android. On iOS, three transcriptions are free, then a one-time €9.99 purchase unlocks lifetime access. Existing iOS purchases can be restored from Settings.
Can FVocals transcribe videos?
On iOS, yes: share a video with an audio track and FVocals extracts it. The Android version currently accepts shared audio files and voice messages.

This policy applies to FVocals for iOS and Android. FVocals is built on the Privacy by Design principle: the app does not upload your audio or transcripts. Speech recognition runs on your device.
1. Data collected by FVocals
FVocals collects no personal data. No account, registration or FVocals identifier is created or transmitted. The apps contain no advertising, tracking or third-party analytics SDKs such as Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel or Sentry.
2. Audio and transcription processing
- Audio shared with FVocals is copied to the app's private storage on your device for local processing.
- Transcription is performed 100% locally, using WhisperKit on iOS and local Whisper or Parakeet engines on Android. FVocals sends no audio to us, Apple, Google or any other transcription service.
- Transcription history is stored in the app's private storage. You can delete it in the app, and uninstalling FVocals removes its local app data. Your operating system may include app data in a device backup if you enabled that feature; such backups are controlled by Apple or Google under your account settings, not by FVocals.
3. Network connections and model downloads
FVocals uses the network only to download a speech-recognition model when you request it. Models are served from Hugging Face repositories used by the iOS and Android apps. Standard network metadata, such as your IP address and user agent, may be processed by Hugging Face and your network provider under their own policies. FVocals does not receive or store it.
4. Pricing and store payments
The Android app is completely free and contains no purchases. On iOS, the optional €9.99 lifetime unlock is handled entirely by Apple through StoreKit 2. We never see or process your payment details.
5. Device permissions
- Microphone on iOS: used only if you choose to record audio directly in FVocals. The current Android version does not request microphone access.
- Notifications on iOS: used only for shared voice-message processing. No marketing notifications. The current Android version does not request notification access.
- Files and shared audio: FVocals accesses only files you explicitly select or share with it. The Android app does not request broad access to your media library.
6. This website
This page contains no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. It stores only your language choice in your browser. Cloudflare processes standard request information, including IP address, to deliver and secure the page under its own privacy policy.
7. Your rights and contact
21 Million SLU is responsible for FVocals. Because FVocals collects no personal data, there is no FVocals server-side profile to access, export or delete. For any privacy question or GDPR request, email paul@21million.ad. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Children
FVocals is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data about them.
